Evening Primrose Sq., 23300 block, 11:56 a.m. May 22. A man tried to enter a house through the front door. He fled after being confronted by a resident.

Vantage Pointe Sq., 22000 block, 9 p.m. May 15 to 7 a.m. May 16. A backpack was stolen from a vehicle.

Ashburn Village Blvd. and Pavilion Pkwy., 6:28 p.m. May 17. A green Volkswagen Jetta was stolen from a parking lot.

PURCELLVILLE AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Shoemaker School Rd., 36600 block, 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. May 19. Cash, documents and coins were stolen from a residence.

VANDALISM

Franklin Park Dr., 17500 block, 9:30 p.m. May 16 to 7 a.m. May 17. Work trucks were used to damage park grounds and structures.

VANDALISM

Prestwick Ct., 35200 block, 11:30 p.m. May 17 to 6 a.m. May 18. Greens at a golf course were damaged when golf carts were driven on them. Several golf carts were damaged.

SOUTH RIDING AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Lands End Dr., 26100 block, 1 p.m. May 10 to 11:30 a.m. May 17. A Global Positioning System device and a satellite radio unit were stolen from a vehicle.

STERLING AREA
ROBBERIES

Sugarland Run Dr., unit block, 8:25 to 8:27 a.m. May 20. A man with his face concealed demanded cash at a convenience store. He implied that he had a weapon under his shirt. When a clerk did not respond, the robber turned toward a customer. The customer struggled with the robber, who fled.

INDECENT EXPOSURE

Signal Hill Plaza, 21200 block, 4:30 p.m. May 21. A man exposed himself to a customer at a business. An Ashburn man, 29, was charged with indecent exposure.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Elkins Terr., 21800 block, 9:30 p.m. May 17 to 5 p.m. May 18. A laptop computer was stolen from a home.

Old Ox Rd., 44800 block, 8 p.m. May 22 to 2:50 a.m. May 23. Cash was stolen from a vending machine.

Scotsborough Sq., 47800 block, 7 p.m. May 22. Jewelry was stolen from a residence.
