Loudoun sheriff’s department investigate couple’s deaths

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the deaths of a couple who died from gunshot wounds in the 600 block of West Washington Street in Middleburg.

Police were called to a home about 10 p.m. Wednesday and found a woman with a gunshot wound. She was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.

Police responded to another call to the home about 10:30 a.m. Thursday and found the woman’s husband dead from a gunshot wound, according to sheriff officials.

A spokesman for the sheriff’s department said an autopsies are being performed on both, but “it appears to be a tragic set of circumstances.”

Names of the man and woman have not been released.
