Man slain at edge of Capitol Hill

A 25-year-old man was fatally shot early Monday on the southeastern edge of Capitol Hill.

D.C. police said Tywayne Thompson of Southeast Washington was found about 1:25 a.m. in the rear of the 700 block of 12th Street SE.

It was not clear exactly where he was found; the site is near Pennsylvania Avenue, the Potomac Gardens Housing development and the Potomac Avenue Metro station.

Police said they were sent there after a shooting was reported. They said the victim was taken to a hospital where he died.

No information was immediately available about any motive or suspect.
