We favor another cold winter, not dissimilar to last winter. While we are forecasting less snow than last winter, we still expect slightly above normal amounts.
Our summer outlook was a success. We said the average temperature would be normal to one degree above normal, and it finished 0.4 degrees above normal in D.C.
When you consider the brutal summers of 2010, 2011, and 2012, the summer of 2014 will seem quite reasonable.
In short, our outlook was a bust. We did well in December, but the rest of the winter was a unique and snowy animal.
