Maryland first lady Catherine Curran O’Malley shows off her glamorous side in the pages of the June issue of Baltimore Style magazine.
O’Malley is the subject of a photo spread, with Vogue-like fashion shots taken inside and outside Government House, the Georgian-style mansion in Annapolis where she lives with her husband, Gov. Martin O’Malley (D), and their children.
As the magazine puts it, “Katie O’Malley’s plays dress-up in the latest spring looks.” Two of her four children, Jack and William, make cameo appearances.
According to Baltimore Style, the first lady was hesitant to take part but became “game for the adventure” once a small army of stylists and assistants arrived for the photo shoot.
Asked about the magazine spread by a reporter Wednesday, Gov. O’Malley said his wife, who is a district court judge in Baltimore, is a “beautiful woman.”
“I’m proud of her, and it was certainly an artistic side of her that people don’t see when she is wearing a black robe on the bench,” the governor said.
He said it was his wife’s decision to take part. “She rarely asks my permission for anything she does,” the governor said.
