O’Malley hosts fundraiser for New Hampshire senator Jeanne Shaheen

Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) is co-hosting a fundraiser Tuesday night for Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), an event certain to add to the buzz about O’Malley’s presidential ambitions, given that Shaheen hails from New Hampshire.

Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski (D-Md.) is the other host of the fundraiser, being held at a residence in Owings Mills.

Tickets for the event start at $1,000, according to an invitation, which lists O’Malley’s O’Say Can You See political action committee as the organizer.

O’Malley, the former chairman of the Democratic Governors Association, has said in recent press interviews that he is weighing a 2016 presidential bid.

Shaheen is a former governor of New Hampshire, traditionally the nation’s first presidential primary state. She has served in the U.S. Senate since 2009. An adviser said O’Malley and Shaheen have known each other for decades, since both worked on Gary Hart’s 1984 presidential campaign.
