Prince George’s to host hospital site selection meeting Thursday

Officials from Prince George’s County, the University of Maryland Medical System and Dimensions Healthcare System will host a public meeting Thursday to discuss potential sites for the proposed acute-care hospital that is supposed to serve the county and southern Maryland.

The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Prince George’s Sports & Learning Complex, 8001 Sheriff Rd., Landover.

Four sites are under consideration for the hospital, whose price tag recently rose to more than $600 million. The sites are the former Landover Mall on Route 202; Largo, near the Largo Metro station; property next to the Morgan Boulevard Metro station in Landover; and Woodmore Towne Centre in Glendarden.

Anyone wishing to testify will be able to sign up at the beginning of the meeting, county officials said.
