Curious kids cross a line: Darnestown Rd., 16800 block, Boyds, Oct. 25. Two goats broke through a fence and wandered into a yard. The resident called animal services to report the goats, but their owner arrived first and removed them. The officer contacted the owner, who said the goats had escaped through a fence and that he had repaired it to prevent future incidents. The officer warned him about possible fines in the future.

Abuse report unfounded: University Blvd. E., 900 block, Silver Spring Oct. 27. A resident reported possible puppy abuse to animal services, describing a dog with a skin condition that was being locked in a closet for hours. An officer met with the dog’s owner, who showed the officer the cocker spaniel mix puppy. The owner denied that the dog had been locked in a closet, and the officer did not observe a skin condition. The dog’s owner was told to get the puppy vaccinated for rabies and that failure to do so could result in a $500 fine.
