SEXUAL ASSAULTS

Shady Grove Rd., 16000 block, 2:30 a.m. July 12. A person sexually assaulted an acquaintance at a hotel.

ASSAULTS

Halpine Rd., 5900 block, 9:36 p.m. July 14. A 50-year-old Rockville man was arrested for assaulting an acquaintance.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Bradford Rd., 500 block, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 11. An attempt was made to enter a residence.

Charen Lane, Lambertina Pl., and Mary Cassatt Dr., July 8 to 16. A GPS device and a laptop were among items stolen from four vehicles. Three of them were entered by force.

Edmonston Dr., 1100 block, 6:43 p.m. July 16. A residence was entered by force. Nothing was reported missing.

Falls Chapel Way, 9200 block, 3:30 a.m. July 12. An elementary school was entered by force and vandalized.

Hungerford Dr., 100 block, 8:21 p.m. July 10. An attempt was made to enter a business by force.

Hungerford Dr., 100 block, July 10 to 11. A business was entered by force. Nothing was reported missing.

Linthicum St., July 10 to 11. A Bluetooth device was stolen from a vehicle. There was no sign of forced entry.

MacArthur Dr., 400 block, 5 a.m. to 6:19 p.m. July 9. Property was stolen from a residence. There was no sign of forced entry.

Monroe St., 11:20 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. July 10. A wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Reach Rd., 9600 block, July 12 to 13. An iPod cable and gear shift knob were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Trailridge Dr., 12000 block, July 12 to 13. Property was stolen from a residence. There was no sign of forced entry.

Twinbrook Pkwy., July 10 to 11. A wallet and a jacket were stolen from a vehicle entered by force.

Avenel Farm Dr., 9800 block, July 10 to 12. An attempt was made to enter a residence by force.

Bells Mill Rd., 6300 block, July 10 to 11. Property was stolen from two vehicles. There was no sign of forced entry.

Bethesda Area, July 11. A theft occurred on a bus during a passenger’s ride between the Bethesda Metro station and Montgomery Mall.

Democracy Blvd., 7100 block, July 10 to 11. An attempt was made to enter a jewelry store by force at a mall.

Essex Ave., 4800 and 4900 blocks, July 10 to 11. Loose items were stolen from two unlocked vehicles.

Friendship Blvd., 5500 block, July 8 to 9. A business was entered. There was no sign of forced entry and nothing was reported missing.

Glenrose St., 4000 block, 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. July 10. Property was stolen from a residence. There was no sign of forced entry.

Lyttonsville Rd., 2400 block, July 10 to 11. Parts were stolen from three vehicles entered by force.

Natelli Woods Lane, 7100 block, 11:30 p.m. July 1. Residents woke up to find two males inside their home. They demanded valuables. The residents complied, and the males fled.

Seven Locks Rd., 9900 block, July 11 to 12. Property was stolen from a community pool entered by force.

SEXUAL ASSAULT

Wayne Ave., 1100 block, 9:30 p.m. July 16. A person was touched inappropriately.

ROBBERIES

Flower Ave., 8300 block, 4:54 a.m. July 13. Three men assaulted and robbed a person of property. A 42-year-old Capitol Heights man and two Silver Spring men, ages 50 and 36, were arrested.

Piney Branch Rd., 8000 block, 3:56 p.m. July 12. Two males assaulted and robbed a person of property.

Piney Branch Rd., 8700 block, 4:04 a.m. July 14. A male assaulted and robbed a person of property.

Wayne Ave., 300 block, 10:35 p.m. July 16. A male with a weapon threatened and robbed a person of property.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Ballinger Terr., Castle Blvd. and Turbridge Dr. (four incidents), July 10 to 13. Clothing, tools, cash, a wallet and a checkbook were among items stolen from six vehicles. Five of them were entered by force.

Big Rock Rd., Brookmoor Dr., Paula Dr., St. Lawrence Dr. and Woodburn Rd., July 10 to 11. Cash, a vehicle registration, camera equipment and stereo equipment were among items stolen from five vehicles. Four of them were unlocked.

Castle Blvd., 14100 block, 1:04 a.m. July 12. A residence was entered by force. Nothing was reported missing. Three Silver Spring males, ages 20, 13, and 12, were arrested.

Colony Rd., 100 block, 6:18 p.m. July 9. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.

Craiglawn Rd., Galway Dr. (two incidents), Hidden Valley Lane, New Hampshire Ave., and Old Columbia Pike, July 9 to 15. Jewelry, cash, cellphones, wallets, clothing, an iPod and medication were among items stolen from nine vehicles. Five of them were entered by force. A 17-year-old Beltsville male was arrested.

Eastern Ave., 7800 block, 7:30 a.m. July 12. Property was stolen from a restaurant entered by force.

Georgia Ave., 9300 block, 10:17 a.m. July 12. An attempt was made to enter a pet store by force.

Hampton Point Dr., 3300 block, 11:25 a.m. to 2:39 p.m. July 16. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.

Kara Lane, 13100 block, 5:21 p.m. July 8. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.

Music Master Dr., 13200 block, 5:07 p.m. July 15. A break-in occurred at a residence.

CARJACKING

Cherry Hill Rd., 12000 block, 11:45 a.m. July 16. A female used a weapon in a parking lot at a retail store to threaten a car owner and steal the owner’s car.

Veirs Mill Rd., 11200 block, 10:47 a.m. July 14. An aggravated assault occurred outside a laundromat. A 24-year-old Alexandria man was arrested.

ROBBERIES

Georgian Way, 2300 block, 9:40 p.m. July 16. Two men with a weapon threatened and robbed several people of property.

Pear Tree Ct., 3500 block, 1:10 a.m. July 14. Three males and a female with a weapon threatened and robbed a person of property.

SEXUAL ASSAULT

Apple Ridge Dr., 10300 block, 2 p.m. July 11. A man inappropriately touched a person on a trail in the wooded area near the above address. The man is described as in his 60s with gray hair, heavy eyelids, and walks with a cane.

ROBBERIES

Diamond Ave. W., 400 block, 9:45 a.m. July 12. An armed robbery occurred. A 19-year-old Germantown man was arrested.

Shelburne Terr., 9900 block, 11:10 p.m. July 8. A group of eight to 10 males and a female assaulted and robbed a person of property.

Side Dr. W., 600 block, 1 a.m. July 16. Four males used a weapon to threaten and rob a person of property.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Airpark Rd., 7800 block, 5 p.m. July 12 to noon July 14. Assorted copper fittings and tools were stolen from a vehicle entered by force.

Apple Ridge Pl., 6:30 p.m. July 10 to 6:39 a.m. July 11. A handicap placard was stolen from a vehicle entered through an open window.

Battery Bend Way, 11 p.m. July 9 to 5 a.m. July 10. In separate incidents, two vehicles were entered. Nothing was reported missing.

Clewiston Pl., midnight to 2:15 p.m. July 16. A GPS device was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

ASSAULTS

Hungerford Dr., 500 block, 4:56 to 5 p.m. July 19. A 46-year-old woman was arrested for assault.

Shady Grove Rd. and I-270, July 1. A 22-year-old man was arrested on July 2 and charged with false imprisonment, kidnapping and second-degree assault for an incident on July 1 that began in Arlington, Va., and ended at Shady Grove Road.

Shady Grove Rd., 16000 block, 6:43 p.m. July 10. A 24-year-old man was arrested and charged with kidnapping, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and false imprisonment.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Anderson Ave., 400 block, 11 a.m. July 6 to 6 p.m. July 11. Jewelry was stolen from a residence.

Dover Rd., 600 block, 1 p.m. July 15 to 9:45 a.m. July 18. A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle.

Edmonston Dr., 1100 block, noon to 6:43 p.m. July 16. An attempt was made to enter a residence by breaking out a window on a side door. Nothing was reported missing.

Maryland Ave., 8:50 to 9:05 p.m. July 20. An unattended purse was stolen.

Rockville Pike, 1400 block, 12:30 to 1 a.m. July 14. A cellphone was stolen at a restaurant.

Rockville Pike, 1600 block, 2:17 to 2:30 p.m. July 17. A 22-year-old woman was arrested for theft. During the investigation, two of her acquaintances, a 47-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman, were arrested for possession of controlled dangerous substances, heroin and drug paraphernalia.

Rockville Pike, 1600 block, 4:20 p.m. July 21. A man entered a store, took a pair of headphones and fled without paying. The man is described as having a tattoo on his neck and wearing green shorts and a white T-shirt.

OTHER ARRESTS

Martins Lane, 300 block, 3:10 a.m. July 19. A 23-year-old woman was arrested for trespassing and obstructing and hindering.

Kennewick Ave., 8100 block, 11:35 p.m. July 21. A 46-year-old man was arrested for assaulting two females during an argument.

University Blvd., 1300 block, 3:57 a.m. July 19. A 23-year-old man was arrested for assault after resisting officers when they attempted to take him into custody for disorderly conduct.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Elm Ave., 400 block, 9:01 p.m. July 21. A person or persons broke a front living room window to enter a residence and fled with property.

Flower Ave., 8600 block, 10:03 p.m. July 23. Property was stolen from an unlocked apartment.

Ritchie Ave., 100 block, 12:09 p.m. July 23. A chain was cut in truck bed and a spare tire was stolen.

14th Ave., 7200 block, 8:45 a.m. July 14. A spare tire was stolen from a vehicle.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

Aspen Ct., 7400 block, 10:25 p.m. July 24. A 24-year-old man was arrested for taking an acquaintance’s vehicle without permission.
