Maryland Ave. and Prospect Hill Pl., 8:14 p.m. Aug. 6. A man who implied that he had a gun approached a pedestrian from behind and robbed him of cash.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Argyle St. E., 200 block, 7 p.m. July 31 to 5:30 a.m. Aug. 1. Cash and property were stolen from vehicle entered by force.

Azalea Dr., 600 block, noon to 3:43 p.m. Aug. 3. Cash was stolen from a business. A man was seen fleeing the premises.

Carita Ct., 8000 block, Cindy Lane, 7900 block, Deepwell Dr., 7900 block, and Hollyoak Dr., 9200 block, Aug. 2 to 3. Cash was stolen from several vehicles.

Charred Oak Dr., 9100 block, 12:01 to 5:30 a.m. Aug. 3. Cash was stolen from a garage at a residence.

Henslowe Dr., 2300 block, 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 3. A wallet was stolen from a residence.

Kipling Rd., Oak Meadow Dr. and Wick Lane, Aug. 1 to 2. Cash and CDs were among property stolen from several unlocked vehicles.

Lakewood Ct., 13700 block, 3:25 a.m. Aug. 2. Three unlocked vehicles were searched. Two males were seen fleeing the area. Nothing was reported missing.

Monroe St., 200 block, 11 a.m. July 31 to 10 a.m. Aug. 1. A laptop computer was stolen from a vehicle entered by force.

Research Blvd., 1400 block, Aug. 3 to 6. Cash and property were stolen from a delicatessen entered by force.

Rockville Pike, 1600 block, 4:35 a.m. Aug. 6. Cash was stolen from a restaurant. A male was seem fleeing the premises.

Rollins Ave., 100 block, 5:30 p.m. Aug. 5 to 6:15 p.m. Aug. 6. A cellphone charger was stolen from a vehicle in a parking garage.

Rollins Ave., 100 block, 10:15 a.m. to 9 p.m. Aug. 6. A Global Positioning System unit and a pair of sunglasses were stolen from a vehicle entered by force.

Tilden Crest Lane, 11200 block, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 30. A wallet was stolen from a vehicle. A credit card from the wallet was used to make unauthorized purchases.

Flower Ave., 8900 block, 3:30 p.m. Aug. 3. A male threatened an acquaintance at gunpoint.

New Hampshire Ave., 11700 block, 1:50 p.m. Aug. 2. A woman argued with a person at a library, then stabbed the person several times with an ink pen. No serious injuries were reported.

ROBBERIES

Blair Rd., 7500 block, 11:56 p.m. Aug. 6. Two men threatened a pedestrian and robbed her of a purse and a travel bag.

Carroll Ave., 8500 block, 3:35 p.m. Aug. 3. A man forced a pedestrian into a park area at knifepoint, then robbed her of a chain from her neck and a passport.

Colesville Rd., 8300 block, 10:22 a.m. Aug. 2. A man robbed a gas station of cash at gunpoint.

Domer Ave., 500 block, 5:54 a.m. Aug. 5. Three men and a woman robbed a pedestrian of his cellphone and a wallet at gunpoint. The men fled on foot, while the woman rode away on a bicycle.

Leslie St., 10300 block, 2 a.m. Aug. 7. Five men threatened a pedestrian and robbed him of a cellphone and a wallet.

Piney Branch Rd., 9300 block, 4:25 a.m. Aug. 5. A male robbed a person of property at knifepoint.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Berleigh Hill Ct., Childress Terr., Cotton Tree Lane, Cross River Ct. (three incidents), Hildegard Lane, Red Miles Dr. (three incidents), and Timberlake Dr., July 30 to Aug. 3. Several GPS units, a gun, a cellphone and coins were among property stolen from nine unlocked vehicles.

Carroll Ave., 8100 block, 5 a.m. Aug. 1 to 6 a.m. Aug. 1. Property was stolen from a school entered by force.

Chester St., 8100 block, 12:25 a.m. Aug. 4. An occupied residence was entered by force. A man fled empty-handed when confronted.

Green Forest Dr., 10100 block, 4:36 p.m. Aug. 3. A break-in occurred at a residence. Nothing was reported missing.

Heather Hollow Cir., 1500 block, 6:55 p.m. Aug. 6. A break-in occurred at a residence. Nothing was reported missing.

Manchester Rd., 6:30 a.m. July 31 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 5. Cash and property were stolen from a residence. A man was seen fleeing the premises.

McKnew Rd., 14700 block, 9:09 p.m. Aug. 3. A break-in occurred at a residence. An arrest was made. Police said that it was a domestic incident.

Maple Hill Rd., 2900 block, 9:24 a.m. Aug. 2. Two people entered a vacant residence through an open window. An 18-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman, both of White Oak, were arrested.

Pine Oak Ave., 9500 block, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 2. Property and cash were stolen from a residence.

Piney Branch Rd., 8800 block, 6:16 p.m. Aug. 6. A break-in occurred at a residence. Nothing was reported missing.

ASSAULTS

Layhill and Bel Pre roads, 11:07 p.m. Aug. 7. A male found on a sidewalk might have been knocked unconscious and said that he didn’t know what had happened to him. A passerby said that a few minutes earlier, the victim had run across the street and banged on the side of a black Honda Civic. Three males got out of the vehicle and attacked him, then got back in the car and drove away.

ROBBERIES

Aspen Hill Rd., 4600 block, 11:42 p.m. Aug. 3. A woman forced her way into the house of an acquaintance and threatened an occupant at gunpoint. The victim was able to wrest the weapon away from her. A 43-year-old Wheaton woman was arrested.

Georgia Ave., 11000 block, 1:20 a.m. Aug. 8. Several people were arrested in connection with a robbery at a Metro station.

Georgia Ave., 11300 block, 3 a.m. Aug. 1. A man lunged at a pedestrian and demanded property from him. The victim pulled away and contacted police. A 23-year-old Wheaton man was arrested.

WEAPONS VIOLATIONS

Georgia Ave. and Randolph Rd., 8:20 p.m. Aug. 3. A man seen with a gun protruding from his pocket told police that he was looking for a male with whom he had a confrontation. A 47-year-old Fairland man was arrested.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Bel Pre Rd., 3000 block, 1:04 p.m. Aug. 3. A break-in occurred at a residence. A man fled empty-handed when a resident returned home.

Brooke Meadow Lane, 3900 block, Lisa Dr., 17700 block, Morningwood Dr., 4300 block, Sycamore Lane, 1600 block, and Woodgate Pl., 18600 block, July 30 to Aug. 7. Property was stolen from five unlocked vehicles.

Gelding Lane, Olney Mill Rd. and Wickham Rd., Aug. 4 to 5. A 2001 Chrysler minivan that had been left unlocked was stolen. Unsuccessful attempts were made to steal four other unlocked vehicles.

Thornhurst Dr., 4600 block, 5:15 to 9:15 p.m. Aug. 3. A pet was stolen from a residence.

ROBBERIES

Wims Rd., 22500 block, 1:20 p.m. Aug. 3. Five males approached a man sitting on a bench outside a high school and asked him for cash. When he said that he had none and pulled out a cellphone, it was snatched from his hand. The victim recognized a student from a previous school year. The four accomplices were also identified. An investigation was ongoing.

Alderleaf Dr., 12900 block, 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 7. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.

Crystal Rock Dr., 19700 block, 2 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 5. A residence was entered by force. Nothing was reported missing.

Dark Star Way, 18100 block, 1:56 p.m. Aug. 4. A residence was entered by force. Nothing was reported missing.

Kingsview Dr., 18900 block, 2:20 a.m. Aug. 3. Cash and property were stolen from a community pool.

ROBBERIES

Contour Rd., 18200 block, 11:30 p.m. Aug. 3. Two men asked a man for some beer that he had just purchased, then robbed the man and a friend walking with him of a wallet and a cellphone at gunpoint.

Goshen Rd., 20000 block, 9:30 p.m. Aug. 3. A man robbed a gas station of cash from the register, a cash deposit bag and four cartons of cigarettes at gunpoint.

Montgomery Village Ave., 18900 block, 10:40 p.m. Aug. 6. A man wearing a ski mask robbed a pizza delivery driver of cash at gunpoint. The delivery order was determined to have been a fake.

Montgomery Village Ave., 19800 block, noon Aug. 3. Three males attacked a male at a fast-food restaurant and robbed him of an iPad.

Shady Grove and Frederick roads, 5:15 p.m. Aug. 6. A person on a bus slapped a female passenger, grabbed her iPhone and got out of the vehicle. Police tracked the phone to the Westfield Mall. An arrest was made.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Dogwood Dr., 300 block, Aug. 6. A break-in occurred at a residence. Nothing was reported missing.

Dowling Park Pl., 8800 block, Fountain Valley Dr., 8600 block, Miller Fall Rd., 7600 block, Sturbridge Pl., 8800 block, Tindal Springs Dr., 8500 block, and Wheat Fall Dr., 17600 block, July 29 to Aug. 6. Wallets, iPods and cash were among property stolen from six vehicles entered by force.

Fountain Valley Dr., 8600 block, Aug. 6. A break-in occurred at a residence. Nothing was reported missing.

Oak Shade Rd., unit block, Aug. 4. A man used a key to enter the home of an acquaintance without permission. A 24-year-old Silver Spring man was arrested.

Sandy Spring Pl., unit block, July 31. A group of four people tried to kick in the door of an acquaintance’s residence, then fled empty-handed in a silver Acura CL.

Stedwick Rd., 10000 block, 10:30 p.m. Aug. 5 to 10:45 a.m. Aug. 6. Property was stolen from a carryout restaurant entered by force.

Montgomery Ave. E., 100 block, 700 block, Aug. 5. A 14-year-old male was arrested in connection with a theft on July 18.

Maple Ave., 7500 block, noon Aug. 14. A 37-year-old man was arrested on charges that included sexual assault and assault.

Ethan Allen Ave., 500 block, 8 p.m. Aug. 12. A woman attacked a male acquaintance at a residence. A 46-year-old woman was charged with assault. No serious injuries were reported.

New Hampshire Ave., 7400 block, 12:20 a.m. Aug. 10. A man attacked a male acquaintance. A 48-year-old man was arrested. No serious injuries were reported.

New Hampshire Ave., 7600 block, 10:12 p.m. Aug. 13. Two female acquaintances fought with each other. No serious injuries were reported.

University Blvd., 1300 block, 6:45 p.m. Aug. 10. A male attacked a female acquaintance. No serious injuries were reported.

Westmoreland Ave., 6700 block, 10:28 a.m. Aug. 14. A male and a female fought with each other at a residence. No serious injuries were reported.

Carroll Ave., 7000 block, 10:42 p.m. Aug. 14. Three males attacked a male near a Metro station and robbed him of cash. The victim sustained minor injuries.

Beech Dr., 400 block, 4:20 p.m. Aug. 14. Property was stolen from a residence entered by removing a window screen.

Carroll Ave., 7600 block, 12:20 p.m. Aug. 14. A woman who had just been discharged from a hospital told police that property was missing from her possession.

Carroll Ave., 7600 block, 12:54 p.m. Aug. 14. Property was stolen from a room at a hospital.

Cedar Ave., 7200 block, 5:40 p.m. Aug. 13. An unlocked shed was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

Dundalk Rd., 7500 block, 2:15 p.m. Aug. 16. Property was stolen from a residence entered by prying open a window. A male was seen fleeing the premises.

Ethan Allen Ave., 400 block, 8:34 a.m. Aug. 14. Property was stolen from a residence entered by breaking a window. Two males were seen fleeing the premises.

Houston Ave., 8200 block, 7:41 p.m. Aug. 15. Property was stolen from an apartment. Two males, ages 8 and 13, and a female, 12, were arrested.

Maple Ave., 7600 block, 5:40 a.m. Aug. 12. Property was stolen from a business entered through a skylight.

New Hampshire Ave., 6300 block, 2:05 p.m. Aug. 13. A male stole merchandise from a store.

New Hampshire Ave., 6900 block, 7:18 p.m. Aug. 13. A male known to the workers at a store played lottery games, then fled without paying for them.

Tulip Ave., 200 block, 8:49 a.m. Aug. 13. Responding to a report of a theft in progress, police arrested a 45-year-old man who had taken property from a vehicle. During his arrest, the man complained of chest pains, and was taken to a hospital.

Wildwood Dr., 7400 block, 9:40 p.m. Aug. 14. Property was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Woodland Ave., 7100 block, 7:11 a.m. Aug. 10. A residence was entered by forcing a back door. Two males were seen leaving the premises through the front door, then fleeing in a vehicle. Nothing was reported missing.

Fourth Ave., 6500 block, 9 p.m. Aug. 10 to 10:41 a.m. Aug. 11. Property was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Fifth Ave., 6400 block, 12:07 a.m. Aug. 14. A vehicle break-in occurred. A 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

Lancaster Rd., 1100 block, 3:45 a.m. Aug. 12. A white 2007 Toyota Rav 4 was stolen from a driveway at a residence.

Lee Ave., 100 block, 1:38 a.m. Aug. 12. A yellow-and-black moped was stolen by cutting a cable lock.
