ASSAULTS

Somerville Dr., 15900 block, 11:59 p.m. March 13. A man attacked a passenger on a municipal bus. No serious injuries were reported.

ROBBERIES

Hungerford Dr., 300 block, 2:19 a.m. March 16. Five males threatened a pedestrian and robbed him of a cellphone, then fled in a dark-blue four-door vehicle.

Hungerford Dr., 700 block, 12:32 p.m. March 18. A man snatched a purse from a woman in a parking lot at a grocery store.

Roan Lane, 11900 block, 11:59 p.m. March 15. A male threatened a female and robbed her of a purse and a cellphone.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Dufief Mill and Muddy Branch roads, 12:30 p.m. March 15. A purse was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Fleece Flower Dr., 300 block, 9 p.m. March 11 to 6:50 p.m. March 12. Two vehicles in a driveway were entered and searched.

Wilkins Ave., 12200 block, March 15 to 16. Property was stolen from four vans in a wireless business’s parking lot.

Parthenon Ct., 10400 block, 3:10 a.m. March 12. A man snatched a purse from a female pedestrian, then fled in a maroon four-door Buick driven by a female.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Avondale St., 4600 block, 7 to 8 p.m. March 14. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.

Beech Ave., 5600 block, 6:30 p.m. March 9. A break-in occurred at a school.

Old Georgetown Rd., 7700 block, 5:30 p.m. March 6. A business was entered by force.

Parklawn Pl., 11900 block, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 8. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.

Rockville Pike, 10200 block, 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 8. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.

Rosemary Hills Area, 1:45 a.m. March 18. A 27-year-old District man was arrested after he was seen looking into vehicles and tampering with their doors.

Symphony Park Dr., 10800 block, March 13 to 14. Property was stolen from a construction site.

Western Ave., 5300 block, N. Park Ave., 4600 block, Earlson Dr., 5000 block, and Newport Ave., 5400 block, March 4 to 19. Property was stolen during several vehicle break-ins. Many of the vehicles had been left unlocked.

Wisconsin Ave., 6000 block, 1:30 p.m. March 8. An attempt was made to enter a business by force.

Wisconsin Ave., 7500 block, March 14. Property was stolen from a vehicle entered by force in a parking garage.

Woodmont Ave., 7700 block, March 14. Property was stolen from three vehicles entered by force in a parking garage.

Colony Rd., 100 block, 12:30 a.m. March 16. A man forced his way into an acquaintance’s residence by breaking a rear window, then threatened her. A 40-year-old man was charged with assault.

Sligo Ave., 700 block, 10:17 a.m. March 12. A man attacked the owner of a dry-cleaning business. No serious injuries were reported.

ROBBERIES

Outlet Dr., 13800 block, 5:45 p.m. March 13. A man threatened a male in a parking lot at a grocery store, then fled with the victim’s hat and an ID card.

Ruatan St., 1000 block, 9:15 p.m. March 15. A male threatened a youth and robbed him of shoes.

White Oak Vista Terr., 11500 block, 2 to 2:45 p.m. March 14. Two men knocked on a door at a residence, then threatened an occupant and fled with his wallet and a cellphone.

Bel Pre and Grand Pre roads, 9:35 p.m. March 16. A male threatened a woman and tried to steal her purse, then fled empty-handed.

Farraday Dr., 14500 block, 11:53 a.m. March 19. A man threatened a pedestrian and robbed him of cash.

Norlee Dr., 11100 block, 9:30 p.m. March 14. Three males threatened and robbed a food-delivery person.

Blue Spruce Lane, 2600 block, 5:20 a.m. March 16. A man wearing a mask was seen entering a residence.

Gleneagles Dr., 3300 block, 12:30 to 4 p.m. March 13. Property was stolen from a residence.

Mateny Rd., 18000 block, 2:40 p.m. March 18. A 14-year-old Germantown male was arrested for threatening and robbing a person.

Middlebrook Rd., 13000 block, 1:40 a.m. March 16. A man armed with a weapon threatened people inside a restaurant. A 31-year-old Gaithersburg man was arrested.

Prairie Knoll Ct., 12900 block, 11 p.m. March 15. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.

Shadyside Lane, 13100 block, 9 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. March 11. Property was stolen from a residence.

Shipley Terr., Sweetgum Cir. and Thackery Pl., March 18. An iPod, cash, credit cards and a earphone device were among property stolen from three vehicles entered by force.

Whitechurch Cir., 13400 block, 4 p.m. March 15 to 3:15 p.m. March 16. An attempt was made to enter a residence by force.

Montgomery Village Ave., 10:50 p.m. March 14. Four men threatened and robbed a person.

Watkins Mill and Club Lake roads, 11 p.m. March 14. A person tried to rob an acquaintance, then fled empty-handed.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Greenside Terr., 19700 block, March 17 to 18. Cash was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

ASSAULTS

Avery Rd.,14500 block, 10:45 a.m. March 20. A 15-year-old male was arrested for disrupting school operations and for obstructing and hindering a police investigation.

ROBBERIES

Hungerford Dr., 700 block, 12:32 March 18. A man approached a woman loading groceries into a vehicle, grabbed her purse and tried to run away. After a brief struggle, the woman fell to the ground. A passerby chased the man, who discarded the purse and fled with an accomplice. A short time later, two men, ages 28 and 29, were arrested.

WEAPONS OFFENSES

Leland St. and Maryland Ave., 2 a.m. March 20. A 29-year-old man was arrested for possession of a concealed weapon (a machete). He was also charged with illegal possession of methamphetamine.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Evans St., 100 block, 9:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 17. A residence was entered by force.

Fallsgrove Blvd., 100 block, 6:30 a.m. March 11 to 2:30 p.m. March 19. A golf bag containing clubs, a pair of golf shoes and a basketball were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Halpine Rd., 100 block, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. March 22. Jewelry, luggage, prescription medication, perfume and clothes were among property stolen from a vehicle.

Jersey Lane, 200 block, 1:30 to 6 p.m. March 18. A wallet, cash and credit cards were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Maryland Ave., unit block, 3 to 3:30 p.m. March 14. A laptop computer was stolen from a table in a library.

Montgomery Ave. W., unit and 100 blocks, 12:01 a.m. March 7 to 9:30 a.m. March 13. Copper piping was stolen from the exterior of two historic buildings.

Montgomery Ave. W., 1200 block, 8 a.m. to 11:05 p.m. March 21. A cellphone was stolen from a motel room.

Rockville Pike, 800 block, 11:35 to 11:45 a.m. March 21. A female robbed a retail business of two cellphone covers.

Rockville Pike, 1500 block, 3:07 to 3:21 p.m. March 20. A man stole computer accessories from a retail business, then fled in a silver 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer.

Twinbrook Pkwy., 12900 block, 12:45 to 1 p.m. March 21. A cellphone was stolen from a man playing basketball at a recreation facility.

Elm Ave., 400 block, 3:59 p.m. March 27. An iPod was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Fenton St., 7600 block, 3:09 p.m. March 26. A purse was stolen.

Houston Ct., 8200 block, 12:35 a.m. March 22. Cash was stolen from an unlocked safe in an office.

New Hampshire Ave., 7300 block, 7:59 p.m. March 22. A license plate was stolen from a vehicle parked in a lot.

University Blvd., 1300 block, 2:45 p.m. March 27. Merchandise was stolen from a store. A person was seen fleeing with the property.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

Maple Ave., 7600 block, 6:45 a.m. March 22. A silver 2011 Toyota Camry was stolen from a parking lot.

Roanoke Ave., 8300 block, 11:46 p.m. March 26. A black 2002 Cadillac DeVille was stolen. Two female acquaintances of the owner are suspected.

Wildwood Dr., 7400 block, 10:16 a.m. March 25. A gold 1998 Nissan Pathfinder was stolen from a parking spot on a street.
