Motorcyclist dies in Northwest D.C. crash

A motorcyclist was killed Monday morning when he collided with a UPS truck that was turning into the driveway of the Washington National Cathedral, according to D.C. police.

The accident occurred about 10:10 a.m. in the 3000 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW. Police said the United Parcel Service truck had been headed south and was making a left turn into the Cathedral property when it was hit by the motorcycle, whose driver was headed north.

The victim died a little more than two hours after the crash after being rushed to a hospital. Police did not immediately release the victim’s name pending notification of relatives.
