Warreen Iozzia, Laytonsville resident

Warreen Iozzia, 93, a clerk-typist for the War Department in the 1940s, died May 6 at her home in Laytonsville. She had complications from osteoporosis.

Warreen Balkcom was born in Poulan, Ga., and settled in the Washington area in the early 1940s.

Her husband of 59 years, Salvatore “Ted” Iozzia, died in 2002. Survivors include a daughter, Jeannie C. Harvey of Laytonsville.
