Barbara J. Ritchey, 78, a member of the Church of Christ at Manor Woods in Rockville, died Feb. 15 at the Somerford Place assisted living facility in Columbia.
She had dementia, said her husband, Paul Ritchey.

Barbara Jean Myers was born in Akron, Ohio, and moved to the Washington area in 1959. She received associate’s degrees in design and illustration from Montgomery College.
She was a member of a homemakers’ club.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Paul Ritchey of Rockville; five children, Kenneth Ritchey of Raleigh, N.C., Daniel Ritchey of Ashburn, David Ritchey of St. Pete Beach, Fla., Melissa Teague of Glen Arm, Md., Michael Ritchey of Grantsville, Utah; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
