Christopher ‘Guido’ Whitesel, Annapolis bartender

Christopher “Guido” Whitesel, 55, who had spent nearly the past 30 years as a bartender at McGarvey’s Saloon and Oyster Bar in Annapolis, died March 27 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis. He had cancer.
Mr. Whitesel, an Arnold resident, had also spent the past six years as a bartender at the 8X10, a music venue in Baltimore.
Mr. Whitesel was born in Washington and raised in Silver Spring. He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School and Montgomery College.
He enjoyed attending the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Kathleen “KP” Payne Whitesel, and their two daughters, Maggie Whitesel and Kaleigh Whitesel, all of Arnold; his father, Roy T. Whitesel of Silver Spring; and a brother, Jeff Whitesel of Bethesda.
