Emma Price, Verizon Wireless employee

Emma Price, 68, a Takoma Park resident who had been a Verizon Wireless customer service representative for the past 15 years, died March 24 at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.

The cause was breast cancer, said her daughter, Mia A. Price.

Mrs. Price had earlier spent 15 years as an administrative assistant for Verizon’s land-line operations.

Emma Vernell Elliott was a native of Portsmouth, Va., and attended what is now Virginia State University. She settled in the Washington area by the early 1970s.

She was a member of From the Heart Church Ministries in Suitland.

Her marriage to Leon Price ended in divorce. Their son, Troy Price, died in 1996.

Survivors include a daughter, Mia A. Price of Milwaukee; three sisters; two brothers; and a granddaughter.
