Judith U. Lowe, 75, a retired personnel manager at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, died Nov. 28 at her home in Alexandria.
She had a heart attack, said her daughter Stephanie Endsley.
Judith U. Lowe, 75, a retired personnel manager at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, died Nov. 28 at her home in Alexandria.
She had a heart attack, said her daughter Stephanie Endsley.
Mrs. Lowe held administrative positions at the Department of Agriculture and Department of the Army before joining DARPA’s personnel department in the late 1970s. She worked for a number of other Defense Department subsidiaries before retiring from DARPA in the mid-1990s.
Judith Lee Utterback was born in the District and grew up in Alexandria. She was a 1953 graduate of Eastern High School in the District.
Her marriage to Robert Painter ended in divorce.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Lawrence Lowe of Alexandria; two children from her first marriage, Melanie Radice of Sunrise, Fla., and Stephanie Endsley of Alexandria; a son from her second marriage, Chip Lowe of Bel Alton; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
