Kenneth F. Everly, bank auditor

Kenneth F. Everly, 79, a former Alexandria resident who spent 22 years working as a bank auditor, died Aug. 1 at a hospital in West Palm Beach, Fla., after a heart attack.

The death was confirmed by his wife, Frances Everly.

From 1952 to 1964, Mr. Everly worked as a teller, bookkeeper and a chief operations officer for Alexandria National Bank. He began his bank-auditing career in 1966 with Financial General Bankshares, a Washington bank holding company.

After leaving the Washington area in 1968, he served as an internal auditor for banking companies in South Florida until retiring from Bank of America in West Palm Beach in 1988. He was a resident of Okeechobee, Fla.

Kenneth Fowler Everly was born in Alexandria, where he was a 1950 graduate of George Washington High School. In 1966, he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southeastern University in Washington.

For 20 years, Mr. Everly sang bass for the Alexandria Harmonizers barbershop chorus.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Frances McAllister Everly of Okeechobee; four children, Kenneth Everly Jr. of Swannanoa, N.C., Karen Albers of Okeechobee and Robert Everly and Lynn Moore, both of Lake Worth, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.
