Patricia V. Johnson, a retired administrative assistant and longtime resident of McLean, Va., died Feb. 10 at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington. She was 86.
The cause was complications from pneumonia, said her son, Edwin H. Johnson II.
Patricia Anne Vandoren was born in the District, where she graduated in 1945 from Woodrow Wilson High School. She worked for the Federal Reserve Board in the late 1940s and ’50s, for a law office and Spring Hill Elementary School in McLean in the 1970s, and for the CIA in the 1980s.
She volunteered with the American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, the Fairfax County Police Department’s citizen advisory committee and at the private Wakefield School in the Plains, Va., which her granddaughter attended. Her memberships included St. John’s Episcopal Church in McLean and the Northern Virginia alumnae chapter of the Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women.
Her husband of 65 years, Henry E. Johnson, died in 2013. Survivors include two children, Edwin H. Johnson II of Arlington and Katharine J. Olimpi of Middleburg, Va.; and a granddaughter.
