Shahram Fatemi, 41, who had until earlier this year been the manager of the Breeze Sports Bar and Restaurant in Herndon, died Nov. 6 at Reston Hospital Center. He was a Reston resident.
He died of peritonitis followed by necrotizing fasciitis, which is commonly known as flesh-eating bacteria syndrome, said a friend, Jeanette A. Fox.
Mr. Fatemi was born in Tehran and came to the United States in 1984. In 1991 he graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, settled in the Washington area and began his career as a restaurant manager.
Over the years, he was manager of an Uno Chicago Grill restaurant and the American Tap Room, both in Reston. He worked at the Breeze for about a year.
Survivors include his mother, Giti Siahkouhi Fatemi of Reston; and two brothers, Shahkar Fatemi of Springfield, Mass., and Shahriar Fatemi of Reston.
