The Wises from Arkansas are among six known American families to lose two brothers in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Jeremy Wise, a CIA contractor and former Navy SEAL, was one of the seven Americans killed in a suicide bombing at a CIA base in Afghanistan on Dec. 30, 2009. Two years later, his younger brother, Ben Wise, a Green Beret, died from wounds received in a firefight in Afghanistan. A third brother, Beau, a Marine Corps sergeant, has been banned from war-zone deployment.
April 14, 2013 Brothers Jeremy Wise, a former Navy SEAL and CIA security contractor, and Army Sgt. 1st Class Ben Wise, are buried side by side at the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery outside of Virginia Beach. As children, they’d shared a king-size bed, and their family insisted that the military cemetery bury them side by side.
