Pedestrian fatally struck in Charles County

A pedestrian was fatally struck while crossing the southbound lanes of Route 301 in Charles County, Md. early Wednesday morning.

Police said the victim, an adult man, was hit by a car shortly before 2 a.m. on Route 301 near Vernon Road in Waldorf. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
