Police seek man in sexual assault

A woman walking along a street in Northeast Washington early Thursday was sexually assaulted at gunpoint after accepting a ride from a man, according to D.C. police.

The woman told authorities that she accepted the ride about midnight while on Clay Terrace. Police said the man threatened her with a gun then drove about two miles to Texas Avenue and Ridge Road in Southeast Washington. Police said the man then sexually assaulted the woman.

Authorities had only a scant description of the gunman, saying he was black with gray and black hair on the side of his head, and appeared between 50 and 60 years old.

The car was described as a four-door silver Buick with a gray interior and black and gray floor carpets. The word “Buick” was on the steering wheel. Police also said the man may be known as “Mike.”

Anyone with information is urged to call D.C. police at 202-727-9011 or text the department’s tip line at 50411.
