July 24, 2013

D.C. police are seeking a man who robbed a 7-Eleven store earlier this month near the Takoma Park Metro station in Northwest Washington.

Video surveillance released by police on Tuesday shows a man in a light blue polo shirt waiting at the counter to purchase a can of soda about 1:45 a.m. on July 11, at the store in the 200 block of Cedar Street NW.

As another customer finishes a transaction, the video shows the man pushing the customer out of the way and reaching over the counter. It appears that he grabs money from one or two registers. He does not show a weapon.

Anyone with information is urged to call D.C. police at 202-727-9099 or text the department’s tip line at 50411. Police are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
