Welsh corgi on the loose: 1000 block, Marcy Ave., Oxon Hill, May 11. A woman reported holding a stray dog that was found tied to bushes behind her building. An animal control officer picked up the 1-year-old brown female Welsh corgi mix. When not claimed, the dog was taken to a rescue group.
Chihuahuas on attack: Mystic Ct., 5400 block, Oxon Hill, May 11. A woman reported being stuck inside her car because two stray dogs were on her property barking and acting as if they would attack. An animal control officer picked up the Chihuahuas, a 2-year-old brown male and a 1-year-old tricolor female. When not claimed, the 1-year-old was adopted and the other dog was taken to a rescue group.
Baby duck: 3500 block, Castleleigh Rd., Beltsville, May 17. A man reported a baby duck in his front yard. An animal control officer picked up the yellow duck and transferred it to a wildlife rehabilitator.
Snake in the bedroom: 7700 block, Loudon Dr., Fort Washington, May 19. An animal control officer removed a healthy black snake from a woman’s bedroom and returned it to the wild.
Silver Spring pet adoption event: The Prince George’s County SPCA/Humane Society is sponsoring cat and dog adoptions, noon-2 p.m. Saturday at PetSmart, 12020 Cherry Hill Rd., Silver Spring. Foster owners will answer questions and accept adoption applications for the animals. Adoption fees are $75 for cats, $180 for dogs. For information, call 301-262-5625 or visit www.pgspca.org.
