Chihuahua on balcony: 3500 block, Silver Park Dr., Suitland, Nov. 20. A woman reported holding a stray dog that had followed her home. An officer picked up a 7-month-old tan-colored male Chihuahua. When not claimed, the puppy was adopted Nov. 27.

White Parson Russell terrier found: 7200 block, G St., Capitol Heights, Nov. 20. A woman reported holding a stray dog that she found running loose. An animal control officer picked up a white female Parson Russell terrier. The dog was reunited with its owner Nov. 30.

Tortured kitten: 100 block, Harry S. Truman Dr., Upper Marlboro, Nov. 21. Someone reported holding a stray kitten inside a box. The caller said neighborhood kids had been spraying the kitten with water. An animal control officer picked up a 4-month-old tabby calico domestic shorthair kitten. When not claimed, the kitten was taken to a rescue group Nov. 27.

“All I Want for the Holidays Is . . . You” adoption event: The Prince George’s County Department of Environmental Resources’ Animal Management Division is reducing adoption fees in December. Adoption fees will be $100 for dogs, $45 for cats. The cat adoption fee will be waived for a second cat or kitten that is adopted at the same time. Fees include the cost of spaying/neutering, a county license, microchipping and all age-appropriate vaccinations. Thursday low-cost animal clinic: The Prince George’s County Department of Environmental Resources’ Animal Management Division will sponsor a low-cost wellness and vaccine clinic from noon-3 p.m. the first and third Thursdays of each month at the Spay Spot Clinic, 3750 Brown Station Rd., Upper Marlboro. 301-254-8151, www.thespayspot.org.

The Prince George’s County SPCA/Humane Society is sponsoring cat and dog adoptions, noon-2 p.m. Saturday at Petsmart, 12020 Cherry Hill Rd., Silver Spring.
