Beagle-mix puppy found: 9400 block, Swan Creek Rd., Fort Washington, April 6. A woman called animal management and reported finding a dog outside her workplace. An animal control officer picked up the 7-month-old brown male beagle mix. The puppy was reunited with its owner April 9.

Lonely ducklings: 7300 block, Van Dusen Rd., Laurel, April 7. Animal management received a report about ducklings spotted in a parking lot without their mother. An animal control officer picked up the ducklings and took them to a wildlife rehabilitator.

Limping and wandering: 18400 block, Barney Dr., Accokeek, April 7. A woman reported that a stray dog on her property was limping. An officer picked up the 3-year-old male Akita mix. When not claimed, the dog was taken to a rescue group.

Mini poodle: 4800 block, Niagara Rd., College Park, April 7. A woman reported holding a stray dog that she found running loose. An animal control officer picked up the 18-month-old white male miniature poodle. When not claimed, the dog was adopted April 16.

Cat in labor: 4500 block, Wheeler Rd., Oxon Hill, April 8. A man reported seeing a multicolored cat giving birth in front of his building. He said the cat was heaving and screaming loudly. An animal control officer picked up the 2-year-old female calico domestic shorthair cat. The kittens were not present at the time of pickup, but three newborn kittens were recovered later. The cat and kittens were taken to a rescue group April 10.

Sticky snake: 6100 block, 87th Ave., Hyattsville, April 9. A woman reported catching a snake on a glue trap. An officer removed the healthy snake from the trap and returned it to the wild.

Upper Marlboro low-cost animal clinic: The Prince George’s County Department of Environmental Resources’ Animal Management Division will sponsor a low-cost wellness and vaccine clinic from noon to 3 p.m. first and third Thursdays at the Spay Spot Clinic, 3750 Brown Station Rd., Upper Marlboro. 301-254-8151, www.thespayspot.org.

Bowie adoption showcase: The Prince George’s County SPCA/Humane Society is sponsoring cat and dog adoptions from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at PetSmart, 4500 Mitchellville Rd., Bowie. The pets’ foster owners will answer questions and accept adoption applications for the animals. Adoption fees are $75 for cats, $180 for dogs.
