Head stuck in fence: 5400 block, Marlboro Racetrack Rd., Upper Marlboro, Dec. 16. Someone called animal management to report holding a stray dog found with its head stuck in a fence. An animal control officer picked up the 5-year-old black male beagle mix. When not claimed, the dog was taken to a rescue group Dec. 27.

Dog found at eviction site: 6500 block, Pennsylvania Ave., District Heights, Dec. 17. The sheriff’s department reported holding a small dog inside a bathroom at the site of an eviction. An animal control officer removed the 1-year-old white male Parson Russell terrier and Havanese mix. The dog was reunited with its owner the next day.

Stressed mother found with puppies: 7900 block, Hart Rd., Fort Washington, Dec. 17. A woman reported finding a mother and five puppies under her porch. The caller said the mother was foaming at the mouth, panting and falling over. An officer picked up the 5-year-old black female Patterdale terrier, four 4-week-old black male puppies and one 4-week-old black female puppy. The puppies were taken to a rescue group Dec. 18, and the Patterdale was taken to a rescue group Dec. 31.

Pomeranian found: 6900 block, Decatur Pl., Hyattsville, Dec. 18. A woman reported holding a small stray dog in her car. An animal control officer picked up a 6-year-old male Pomeranian. When not claimed, the dog was adopted Dec. 27.

Border terrier puppy found: 5000 block, Townsend Way, Bladensburg, Dec. 19. A woman reported holding a stray dog that she found as she was walking her children to school. An officer picked up a 10-month-old tan female border terrier. When not claimed, the dog was taken to a rescue group Dec. 24.

Humane Society is sponsoring cat and dog adoptions from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at PetSmart, 12020 Cherry Hill Rd., Silver Spring.
