ASSAULTS

Springhill Ct., 6200 block, 11:25 p.m. Jan. 2. A 29-year-old Lanham man was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree assault after he allegedly struck a male in the head with a dinner plate, cutting him and threatening the male with a knife during a verbal dispute. The male was taken to a hospital for treatment.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Breezewood Ct., 6100 block, 8:08 p.m. Jan. 3. Six Greenbelt youths and one 16-year-old Beltsville youth were arrested and charged with burglary after they were found inside a vacant apartment. They were released to their parents pending action by the juvenile justice system.

Capitol Dr., 6500 block, Jan. 6. A vehicle’s window was broken and the center console storage unit was stolen.

Cherrywood Terr., 5900 block, 1:40 p.m. Jan. 8. A 17-year-old Silver Spring youth, a 14-year-old Greenbelt youth and a 17-year-old College Park youth were arrested and charged with burglary and trespass after being found in an unused laundry room. They were released pending action by the juvenile justice system.

Greenway Center Dr., 7400 block, Jan. 6. A briefcase and a laptop computer were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Lake Park Dr., 6700 block, 11:13 p.m. Jan. 6. Money was stolen from a residence.

Ora Glen Dr., 7600 block, Jan. 4. A purse was stolen from a vehicle entered by breaking the front passenger window.

Springhill Terr., 6100 block, Jan. 3. A vehicle’s rear tag was stolen.

Westway, 100 block, Jan. 4. Four tires and rims were stolen from a vehicle.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

Breezewood Terr., 9000 block, Jan. 3. An attempt was made to steal a vehicle.

Gallatin St. NE, DC, unit block, Jan. 2. A 2005 Jeep Cherokee, reported stolen Dec. 31, was recovered by D.C. police.

George St., 400 block, Hagerstown, Jan. 4. A 2000 Dodge Stratus, reported stolen Dec. 15, was recovered by Hagerstown police.

Henry Ford Cir., Waldorf, Jan. 8. A 2005 Cadillac Escalade, reported stolen May 15, was recovered by the Charles County Sheriff’s Department.

Lake Dr., 7100 block, Jan. 7. A 2011 Acura MDX was reported stolen and recovered by Anne Arundel County police the same day.

Montana Ave. NE, DC, 1400 block, Jan. 3. A green 1998 Dodge Dakota truck, reported stolen Jan. 3, was recovered by D.C. police the same day.

Springhill Dr., 6000 block, 10:54 p.m. Jan. 4. A 2002 Lexus ES300, which was involved in a carjacking, was recovered by Howard County police. Two people were arrested.

Springhill Lane, 9200 block, Jan. 3. A green 1998 Dodge Dakota was stolen.

Springhill Lane, 9200 block, Jan. 6. A 1998 Nissan Maxima was stolen.

VANDALISM

Cherrywood Terr., 5900 block, 4:45 p.m. Jan. 8. Two males were observed in an apartment building where paper was burned in the hallway.

Edmonston Rd., 9100 block, Jan. 1. A vehicle’s rear window was broken.

Morrison Dr., 7200 block, Jan. 9. A vehicle’s front passenger window was broken.

Springhill Dr., 6000 block, 6:22 p.m. Jan. 8. An unused laundry room was vandalized.

ROBBERIES

Kirkwood Pl., 2700 block, 5 p.m. Jan. 11. Three people, one armed with a knife, approached two people and demanded property. When they refused, one person was cut. The three fled.

Ager Rd., 5700 block, Jan. 7. An airbag was stolen from a vehicle.

Baltimore Ave., 5700 block, Jan. 6. Wheels and tires were stolen from a vehicle.

Belcrest Rd., 6500 block, Dec. 17-Jan. 9. Property was stolen from an apartment in student towers.

East West Hwy., 3300 block, 7-7:45 a.m. Jan. 10. Property was stolen from a vehicle.

East West Hwy., 3500 block, 4 p.m. Jan. 8. A person was arrested and charged with shoplifting.

Pennsylvania St., 3300 block, 4:30-10 p.m. Jan. 5. Property was stolen from a residence.

29th Ave., 5700 block, Jan. 7. A vehicle’s front tag was stolen.

Nicholson St., 3800 block, Jan. 10. A 2002 Ford van was stolen. It was recovered by Prince George’s County police the next day.

VANDALISM

31st Ave., 5900 block, Jan. 8. A vehicle was spray-painted and two windows were broken.

42nd Pl., 4700 block, 10 a.m. Jan. 5-10 a.m. Jan. 6. The door lock of a business was broken.
