THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Rumsey Ct., 13500 block, 2:55 a.m. Aug. 24. Someone attempted to enter a residence through a window.

DUMFRIES AREA

ASSAULTS

Dry Powder Cir., 3400 block, 11:57 p.m. Aug. 23. After an argument between two male acquaintances at a residence, one left and returned with two other men. The three assaulted the acquaintance, who was later treated for injuries.

WEAPONS

River Heritage Blvd., 3100 block, 11:46 p.m. Aug. 25. A gas station clerk heard gunshots from the parking lot and saw two men running from the area.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Anderson Rd., 4100 block, 6:30 a.m. Aug. 26. A man entered a garage of a residence through an unlocked side door. Nothing was reported stolen.

Brent Ridge Ct., 2900 block, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 22. Someone attempted to enter a residence by breaking a rear glass door.

Chesapeake Dr., 3100 block, 1 p.m. Aug. 23 to 8:30 a.m. Aug. 25. Three video game systems, jewelry, a cellphone and other items were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked window.

Golf Club Dr., 15500 block, 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 27. Cash and jewelry were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a rear window.

McClellan Ct., 2300 block, 4:34 a.m. Aug. 21. A man entered a residence through an unlocked basement door. He fled with a video game system and a video game when a resident saw him.

Tebbs Lane, 18100 block, 8:55 a.m. Aug. 21. Someone entered a residence by forcing a rear basement door. Nothing was reported stolen.

GAINESVILLE AREA

ASSAULTS

Collingham Pl., 14500 block, 10:27 p.m. Aug. 27. During an argument at a residence, a gunman prevented a female acquaintance from leaving. A 42-year-old Gainesville man was arrested.

Linton Hall Rd., 7500 block, 2:11 a.m. Aug. 24. Three men assaulted two other men, who were later treated for injuries. Two Nokesville men, 21 and 24, were arrested.

MANASSAS AREA

ASSAULTS

Ashland Ave., 8000 block, 8:26 a.m. Aug. 26. During an argument, a woman punched a man several times and hit him with a blunt object.

ROBBERIES

Festival Lane, 10200 block, 9 p.m. Aug. 24. A man assaulted a female pedestrian and attempted to take her purse. The woman resisted, and the man fled empty-handed.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Colonel Weavers Ct., 7500 block, 9 a.m. to 4:55 p.m. Aug. 24. Cash was stolen from a residence entered by breaking a side window.

Coverstone Dr., 10900 block, 5 p.m. Aug. 17 to 8 a.m. Aug. 20. Cash and other items were stolen from a business.

McLean St., 7800 block, 7 p.m. Aug. 24 to 7 a.m. Aug. 25. Three firearms were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a rear door.

TRIANGLE AREA

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Cabin Rd., 18400 block, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 22. Jewelry was stolen from a residence entered by kicking a rear door.

WOODBRIDGE AREA

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

Princedale Dr., 8:36 p.m. Aug. 21. A man sexually assaulted a female juvenile relative. A 51-year-old Woodbridge man was arrested.

ASSAULTS

Flagship Dr., 1400 block, 2:57 a.m. Aug. 28. A man hit a male acquaintance on the head with a glass bottle. The acquaintance was treated for injuries. A 28-year-old Woodbridge man was arrested.

Wentwood Lane, 15200 block, 3:36 p.m. Aug. 28. After an argument at a shopping center, two men in a vehicle followed two male acquaintances to a location, where they began to fight. One of the men in the vehicle fired a weapon at the two, who were standing on a street. A bullet hit one of the acquaintances in the chest. Another bullet hit the other acquaintance in the leg, and a third bullet hit an occupied residence. The injured men were taken to a hospital. Two Woodbridge men, 21 and 22, were arrested.
