DUMFRIES AREA

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Oak Tree Lane, 2500 block, 1:30 to 1:35 a.m. Oct. 5. A custom bike was stolen from a residence entered through an open garage.

HAYMARKET AREA

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Amber Ridge Rd., 5900 block, 5:45 to 7:45 p.m. Oct. 3. A bike was stolen from a residence entered through an open garage.

MANASSAS AREA

CHILD CARE INCIDENTS

Somersworth Dr., 8500 block, Oct. 2. A woman operated an unlicensed day-care business at a residence and was watching nine children younger than 4. Three of the children were found unattended in a separate room. The woman’s juvenile daughter was also found to be caring for the children for long hours. A 38-year-old Manassas woman was arrested.

Willoughby Lane, 7400 block, 4:02 p.m. Oct. 3. A man and a woman left their three young children home alone for several hours. A 36-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, both of Manassas, were arrested.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Hornbaker Rd., 9000 block, 5:30 p.m. Oct. 5 to 7:30 a.m. Oct. 8. Tools and equipment were stolen from a business entered through an unlocked door.

Keara Ct., 7700 block, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 3. Two laptop computers, a video game system, clothes and other property were stolen from a residence entered through an open window.

TRIANGLE AREA

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Sapling Way, 4000 block, 2:01 p.m. Oct. 3. Someone attempted to enter a residence by kicking a window.

Stonewall Manor Dr., 3600 block, 6 p.m. Oct. 5 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 6. Two video game systems were stolen from a residence.

WOODBRIDGE AREA

ASSAULTS

Potomac Mills Rd., 14600 block, 11:50 p.m. Oct. 3. A man punched a female acquaintance. When she attempted to run, he began to strangle her. A witness removed the man from the woman, and the assailant fled. A 46-year-old man was arrested.

WEAPONS

Neddleton Ave., 5500 block, 11:49 p.m. Oct. 7. Several gunshots were heard.

ROBBERIES

Dillingham Sq., 12300 block, 10:25 p.m. Oct. 3. Two females followed a female pedestrian, who walked away as they approached her. The two assaulted the woman and robbed her of a purse and a cellphone.

Featherstone Rd., 1700 block, 8:58 p.m. Oct. 4. A gunman robbed a convenience store of cash.

Opitz Blvd. and I-95, 6:30 p.m. Oct. 4. A gunman wearing a mask robbed a male pedestrian of cash.

INDECENT EXPOSURE

River Ridge Blvd., 16700 block, 10:26 a.m. Oct. 5. A man sitting near a day-care facility playground exposed himself. When a witness approached, the man walked away. A 66-year-old Woodbridge man was arrested.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Bacon Race Rd., 11400 block, 4:36 p.m. Oct. 7. Two male juveniles entered a residence by breaking a window, then ran from the garage when a resident returned home. Nothing was reported stolen.

Jeffries Rd., 14300 block, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Oct. 6. Someone attempted to enter a residence by damaging a front door.

Lindendale Rd., 14200 block, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 5. Two video game systems, jewelry and other property were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a rear door.

Red Bird Lane, 3900 block, 11 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Oct. 5. A laptop computer and a video game system were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked door.

Simmons Lane, 14400 block, 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 4. Two laptop computers and jewelry were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a rear door.
