DUMFRIES AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Chesapeake Dr., 3100 block, 2:10 a.m. April 16. Two males attempted to enter a residence through a window. A resident saw them crouched under a window and shouted; the two fled on foot.

Waterway Dr., 4400 block, 7:30 p.m. April 11 to 9 a.m. April 12. Several baseball bats and a helmet were stolen from a storage room entered by prying a door. The items were recovered.

GAINESVILLE AREA
ASSAULTS

Old Carolina Rd., 7400 block, 7:49 p.m. April 10. During an argument, a man attempted to stab a male acquaintance with a knife. A 33-year-old Gainesville man was arrested.

HAYMARKET AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Yorktown Run Ct., 5300 block, April 4 to April 6. A handgun, jewelry and other items were stolen from a residence entered through a basement door.

MANASSAS AREA
ASSAULTS

Blue Gray Cir., 7800 block, 1:58 a.m. April 14. During an argument between a man and a male acquaintance, the man fired a handgun into a nearby wall. The acquaintance lunged at the man and was shot in the abdomen. He was taken to a hospital. A 28-year-old Woodbridge man was arrested.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Centreville Rd., 8000 block, 9:30 p.m. April 13 to 9 a.m. April 15. A church was entered through a side door. Nothing was reported missing.

Hiram Cir., 10900 block, 10:50 a.m. to noon April 8. A computer tablet and jewelry were stolen from a residence.

TRIANGLE AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Barnett’s Crossing Pl., 3300 block, 3 p.m. April 10. A male knocked on a door of a residence. When a resident asked him to identify himself, the male ordered her to open the door. The resident called police and activated an alarm and the male fled.

WOODBRIDGE AREA
ASSAULTS

Chesterfield Dr., 14200 block, 7:46 p.m. April 16. During an argument, a man assaulted a male acquaintance and cut his finger with a knife. A 21-year-old Woodbridge man was arrested.

Foulger Sq., 14000 block, 4:56 a.m. April 14. During an argument, a man hit a male acquaintance on the head with a blunt object. The injured male was treated at a hospital.

ROBBERIES

Mapledale Ave., 13600 block, 8 p.m. April 15. Three men assaulted two male pedestrians and robbed them of cash, a cellphone and shoes.

Potomac Mills Cir., 2700 block, 9:30 p.m. April 15. Two males in a parking lot grabbed a purse from a woman and fled.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Elm Farm Rd., 3600 block, 7:15 a.m. to 6:31 p.m. Jewelry was stolen from a residence entered by breaking a window.

ASSAULTS

Center and Main streets, April 13. During a group fight, a man punched a woman. A 22-year-old Manassas man was arrested.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Brent St., 9700 block, 7 p.m. April 8. A trailer was stolen from a residence.

Cleary St., 10200 block, April 9. Tires were stolen from a vehicle.

Leander Lane, 9900 block, Bentfield Dr., 8800 block, Fendall St., 9900 block, Libeau Dr., 8700 and 9900 blocks, and Wellington Rd., 10000 block, Jan. 1 to April 7. Garage door remote-control devices were stolen from houses under construction.

Maple St., 9300 block, 3 to 5 p.m. April 8. A bag containing cash and a laptop computer was stolen.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

Centreville Rd., 9000 block, April 1 to 11. A red 2011 Toyota Highlander was stolen from a car dealership.

VANDALISM

Point of Woods Dr., 8600 block, 3:15 to 6:30 p.m. April 10. Two vehicles were scratched.
