THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Dawkins Ridge Lane, 11700 block, 7:30 p.m. Aug. 14 to 8:45 a.m. Aug. 15. A video game system was stolen from a residence entered by breaking a basement window.

DUMFRIES AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Avenel Lane, 17600 block, 4 p.m. Aug. 15 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 18. A TV, a video game system, a camera and other items were stolen from a residence entered by damaging a basement door. A gray 2010 Ford Fusion was stolen from a garage.

Steerage Cir., 16500 block, 8 a.m. Aug. 12 to 9 a.m. Aug. 16. An attempt was made to enter a residence by damaging a rear door.

Talon Dr., 5:20 p.m. Aug. 12 to 9:15 a.m. Aug. 14. Tools were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked garage door.

GAINESVILLE AREA
ASSAULTS

Ontario Rd., 7800 block, 11:20 p.m. Aug. 19. During an argument, a man assaulted a female acquaintance. A 29-year-old Gainesville man was arrested.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Stepping Stone Dr., 13500 block, 11:30 p.m. Aug. 16 to 7:30 a.m. Aug. 17. An attempt was made to enter a residence by damaging a rear door.

MANASSAS AREA
SEXUAL ASSAULTS

Albemarle Dr. area, June. A man sexually assaulted a female juvenile acquaintance. A 64-year-old Manassas man was arrested.

ROBBERIES

Magenta St., 9600 block, 12:04 a.m. Aug. 20. Two males took a male acquaintance to a secluded area, where two other men assaulted the acquaintance and robbed him of a wallet, cellphone, shoes and a watch. He was treated for injuries.

TRIANGLE AREA
INDECENT EXPOSURE

Locust Shade Dr., 4700 block, 4:35 p.m. Aug. 12. A man got out of a vehicle and exposed himself to a woman inside another vehicle. A 63-year-old Fredericksburg man was arrested.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Quantico Terr., 3600 block, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 14. Three video game systems were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked door.

WOODBRIDGE AREA
ASSAULTS

Bel Air Rd. and Saxophone Way, 8:56 p.m. Aug. 16. A man assaulted a female acquaintance and attempted to stab her with a knife. A 24-year-old Woodbridge man was arrested.

Cara Dr., 12700 block, 12:49 a.m. Aug. 21. A group of acquaintances argued in the rear of a residence. When a man attempted to intervene, one of the men in the group hit the man on the head with a stick. A 23-year-old Woodbridge man was arrested.

Nationville Lane, 13300 block, 1:07 p.m. Aug. 14. A man assaulted a male acquaintance. A 28-year-old Woodbridge man was arrested.

WEAPONS

Shoppers Best Way, 13800 block, 6:03 p.m. Aug. 14. A man in a parking lot was waiving a machete in the air. No injuries were reported. A 33-year-old man was arrested.

ROBBERIES

Harbor Dr., 12700 block, 9:17 p.m. Aug. 14. A man robbed a store employee of cash at knifepoint.

Lord Culpeper Ct., 15200 block, 11:59 p.m. Aug. 17. Two men robbed a male juvenile in a vehicle of cash.

Minnieville Rd., 14100 block, 3:23 a.m. Aug. 18. Two gunmen robbed a convenience store of cash while a male accomplice waited outside.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Black Forest Lane, 12700 block, 2:48 a.m. Aug. 18. Someone entered a restaurant through an unlocked door and attempted to open a cash register. Nothing was reported stolen.

Foulger Sq., 14000 block, May 1 to Aug. 12. Several TVs were stolen from a vacant building entered by damaging a front door.

Hemingway Dr., 4400 block, 9:45 a.m. Aug. 19. An attempt was made to enter a residence. Two males were seen in the back yard.

Jefferson Davis Hwy., 14400 block, 3:45 to 3:55 a.m. Aug. 13. Cash was stolen from a fast-food restaurant entered through a drive-through window.

Jefferson Davis Hwy., 14900 block, 3:36 to 3:39 a.m. Aug. 13. Cash was stolen from a business entered by damaging a front door.

Kenmont Ct., 4800 block, 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 15. An attempt was made to enter a residence by damaging a front door.

Kingsley Rd., 4500 block, 2:45 p.m. Aug. 15. Doors, windows and interior walls of a vacant residence were damaged. Nothing was reported stolen.

Nautilus Pl., 4900 block, 9 a.m. Aug. 9 to 1:45 p.m. Aug. 16. Jewelry and other items were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a rear window. A white 2001 Honda Accord was stolen from a garage entered by forcing a side door.

Potomac Vista Dr., 1200 block, 3 to 6 a.m. Aug. 14. An attempt was made to enter a residence by damaging a front door.

Veterans Dr., 14300 block, 11:59 a.m. Aug. 19 to 12:30 a.m. Aug. 20. A cashiers booth at a pool was entered by cutting a window screen. An attempt was made to open a cash register. Nothing was reported stolen.

Walnut St., 1400 block, 9 p.m. Aug. 14 to 1:38 a.m. Aug. 15. A video game system and shoes were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked window.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

Hunterbrook Dr., 12800 block, July 7 to Aug. 16. A red 2013 Honda motorcycle was stolen from a shed entered through an unlocked door.

HOMICIDES

Nicol Lane, 8900 block, 10:33 a.m. Aug. 17. The body of Cesar Benjamin Contreras, 26, of Manassas, was found near a trash bin. He had been stabbed. A 20-year-old Manassas man and an 18-year-old District man were arrested.

ASSAULTS

Market Cir., 10000 block, 5 p.m. Aug. 11. During an argument in a parking lot between two motorists, one got out of his vehicle and approached a witness. The motorist pulled out a badge, threatened to arrest the witness, then drove away. A 34-year-old Woodbridge man was arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Sudley Rd., 9000 block, 7:30 p.m. Aug. 17 to 7 p.m. Aug. 18. A grandfather clock and a red wagon were stolen from a residence entered through a front window.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

Bragg Lane, 9700 block, 12:50 a.m. Aug. 20. Two males stole a moped. The owner confronted them, and they fled on foot.

Taney Rd., 9300 block, 8:30 p.m Aug. 19 to 4:30 a.m. Aug. 20. A black-and-gray 2013 moped was stolen.

VANDALISM

Overhill Dr., 7:05 to 7:31 p.m. Aug. 12. The trunk of a vehicle was spray-painted yellow.
