PRTC to begin fall service, new routes next month

The Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission bus service will begin serving the new Telegraph Road commuter lot Nov. 5 when the fall service change takes effect.

Only the buses on the Rosslyn/Ballston OmniRide route and the Dale City-Pentagon/Crystal City OmniRide route will serve the Telegraph Road lot. Then, the Dale City buses will no longer serve the PRTC Transit Center or Potomac Mills Mall.

Other changes taking effect Nov. 5 are:

→Closing the overflow gravel commuter lots at the Transit Center and on Telegraph Road.

→Eliminating the bus stop at Independence Avenue and Sixth Street in the District for the commute home.

→→Rerouting the evening trips on the Prince William Metro Direct buses to serve the PRTC commuter lot and Potomac Festival bus stop.

→Rerouting Manassas Metro Direct buses to eliminate direct service to the Manassas Virginia Railway Express station. Buses will continue to serve stops on Center and Church streets.

→Eliminating the bus stop at Dale Boulevard and Ashdale served by eastbound Dale City OmniLink buses. Buses will instead serve a new stop on Gideon before Dale Boulevard.

→For information or updated schedules, call 703-730-6664 or visit prtctransit.org.
