Georgetown South cracks down on littering, dumping

The Georgetown South Community Council is partnering with the Manassas Police Department for the third annual Litter Enforcement Month.

During April, Georgetown South staff will report all litter violations to police. Residents are encouraged to report littering and illegal dumping. To report a violation, call 703-257-8000.

Prescription Drug Take-Back is scheduled for April 27

Prince William County police will offer residents a safe way to dispose of unused prescription medicine as part of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s Prescription Drug Take-Back initiative.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 27, the department will have drop-off locations for prescription drugs. The sites are Prince William Hospital, 8700 Sudley Rd., Manassas; Heathcote Health Center, 15195 Heathcote Blvd., Haymarket; and Sentara Lake Ridge, 12825 Minnieville Rd., Woodbridge. The service is free and anonymous.

Prescription and over-the-counter medications will be accepted. Liquids, syringes, intravenous solutions and illegal substances will not.
