Marine Corps Museum gets national accreditation

The National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle recently received accreditation from the American Alliance of Museums, the highest national recognition for a museum.

Only 779 of the nearly 17,500 museums across the county are accredited through the group.

“Accreditation assures the people of the United States that their Marine Corps museum is among the finest in the nation,” group President Ford W. Bell said in a statement. “As a result, the citizens can take considerable pride in this national institution, for its commitment to excellence and for the value it brings to the community.”
