Elementary report cards delayed in Prince William

Prince William County elementary schools will distribute first-quarter report cards Thursday instead of Wednesday because of vendor software problems.

Old Bridge Elementary librarian honored

The Virginia Association of School Librarians has named Krista Britton of Old Bridge Elementary School the Potomac Region’s Librarian of the Year for 2013.

Britton and six other regional winners are in the running for the Virginia Librarian of the Year, who will be announced this month.

Britton has a master’s degree in library science from Texas Woman’s University. A county employee since 2004, she has been the librarian at Old Bridge in Woodbridge for more than seven years.

GMU hosts forum for students with disabilities

George Mason University will host Future Quest, a college and career forum for students with disabilities, their families and educators, from 8 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. Saturday.

Participants can learn about educational and career opportunities. Speakers, workshops and displays will cover the transition from school to adult life, including college applications, financial aid, strategies for success in college and career planning and opportunities.
