HUNTINGTOWN AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Plum Point Rd., 7:54 a.m. Aug. 5. Silver and coins were stolen from a closet at a residence.

LUSBY AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Sidewinder Ct., Aug. 6. Copper was stolen from a home air conditioner.

NORTH BEACH AREA
ASSAULTS

Greenwood Ave., 1:30 a.m. Aug. 3. Three masked men forced their way into a home and stabbed a man, 26, during an altercation. He declined medical treatment. A Chesapeake Beach man, 20, and a North Beach youth, 17, were charged with first-degree assault and first-degree burglary.

OWINGS AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Doris Dr., 9:30 p.m. Aug. 7. A male intruder fled a garage upon discovery.

Fifth St., Aug. 7 to Aug. 9. Cash was stolen from a residence.

VANDALISM

Scaggs Rd., Aug. 9 to Aug. 10. Greens and a sprinkler at a golf course were damaged.

PRINCE FREDERICK AREA
ARSON

W. Dares Beach Rd., 6:32 p.m. Aug. 14. Property in a shopping cart was set on fire behind a grocery store.

ASSAULTS

Hallowing Lane, 12:48 p.m. Aug. 10. A woman at a vehicle at an intersection saw a man pull a handgun from his waistband and point it at the vehicle. A Prince Frederick man, 21, was charged with first- and second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, concealing a dangerous weapon and reckless endangerment.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Moonlight Lane, 2:34 p.m. Aug. 8. A camera was stolen from the glove compartment of an unlocked vehicle.

Prince Frederick Blvd., 5:14 p.m. Aug. 10. During a police traffic stop, it was discovered that a registration sticker on the vehicle had been stolen from St. Mary’s County. A Prince Frederick woman, 39, was charged with possession of Oxycodone and stolen property.

VANDALISM

South Shore Terr., 12:01 p.m. Aug. 10. During a dispute, a Prince Frederick man damaged a tire on an acquaintance’s vehicle.

ST. LEONARD AREA
SEXUAL ASSAULTS

Calvert Beach Rd., Aug. 11. During a party, a man sexually assaulted a Leonardtown woman after she had fallen asleep in a bedroom. The woman awoke and found the man on top of her. She screamed and hit the man on the head with a bottle. A Lexington Park man, 19, was charged with second-degree rape and other offenses.

VANDALISM

Ross Rd., 1:47 p.m. Aug. 9. Firecrackers were ignited in a mailbox.

WALDORF AREA
ROBBERIES

St. Patrick’s Dr., 100 block, 8:15 p.m. Aug. 9. A woman was pushed to the ground, and her cellphone was taken. During an arrest, a suspect hit a police officer and dislocated his shoulder. A male youth, 17, was charged with robbery and two counts of assault.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Berry Rd., 11700 block, 2 p.m. Aug. 11. A man was detained in a store for stealing a camera. The man fled from the business and was found a short time later hiding in woods. A D.C. man, 20, was charged with robbery, theft, second-degree assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and giving a false name.

WEAPONS

Gadwell Pl., 4600 block, 6:39 a.m. Aug. 9. During a search-and-seizure warrant at a residence in connection with a mail fraud investigation, a man, 23, was armed with a rifle and allegedly threatened officers. Gunshots were fired, and the man was injured. He was taken to a hospital.

CALIFORNIA AREA
ASSAULTS

Gross Dr., Aug. 10. During an argument, a woman assaulted an acquaintance at a home. A California woman, 21, was charged with second-degree assault.

VANDALISM

Three Notch Rd., 11:17 p.m. Aug. 14. An improvised explosive device was ignited behind a restaurant. The explosion damaged a vehicle.

LEXINGTON PARK AREA
ASSAULTS

Great Mills Rd., Aug. 9. During an argument, a man allegedly grabbed an acquaintance by the neck and forced her to the ground. A Lexington Park man, 53, was charged with second-degree assault.

MECHANICSVILLE AREA
HOMICIDES

Three Notch Rd., Aug. 13. A Lexington Park man, 31, was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault and robbery in connection with the death of Moneta Jo Strickland, 32, who died of blunt-force trauma.

ASSAULTS

Allison Cir., Aug. 8. A man assaulted an acquaintance and damaged a residence in an attempt to enter the home. A Mechanicsville man, 33, was charged with second-degree assault, disorderly conduct and malicious destruction of property.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Three Notch Rd., 8:07 a.m. Aug. 13. A U.S. flag was stolen from an auto parts store. A Loveville man, 50, was charged with theft.

RIDGE AREA
ASSAULTS

Sea Side View, Aug. 8. During an argument, someon ereportedly slapped an acquaintance. A Ridge woman, 51, was charged with second-degree assault.
