CHESAPEAKE BEACH AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Braeburn Court, Aug. 22. A locking mechanism on a doorknob at a residence was tampered with in a possible attempt to open the door.

DUNKIRK AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Route 4, 4:39 p.m. Aug. 24. Two men at a store who wheeled a cart full of merchandise out the front entrance were stopped trying to leave the parking lot. An investigation revealed the two men stole merchandise in the same manner the previous day. Two Upper Marlboro men, ages 36 and 64, were charged with two counts of theft of $1,000 to less than $10,000, two counts of conspiracy to commit theft and theft scheme of $1,000 to less than $10,000.

ARSON

Cedarwood Lane, Aug. 27. A man returning from Honduras was detained for his connection in the Jan. 22 burning of a 2009 Acura TL. A woman, 21, was charged in February. The man, 24, was charged with second-degree arson and burning with the intent to defraud.

HUNTINGTOWN AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Harrison Lane, 11:08 a.m. Aug. 21. Cash and an oak case were stolen from a residence.

VANDALISM

Line Ridge Drive, 2-10:30 a.m. Aug. 25. Several mailboxes were damaged, possibly after being hit by a moving vehicle.

Loris Drive, Aug. 23 to Aug. 24. Mailboxes and posts were damaged.

LUSBY AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Delaware Drive, 4:33 p.m. Aug. 22. Electrical wire and copper pipes were stolen from a garage at a residence.

H.G. Trueman Road, 2:39 p.m. Aug. 26. Jewelry and cash were stolen from a residence.

H.G. Trueman Road, 12:30-4:30 p.m. Aug. 24. A laptop and a beard trimmer were stolen from a vehicle parked at a hardware store.

OWINGS AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Investment Court, 4:12 p.m. Aug. 21. During a traffic stop, it was determined that a vehicle’s license plate had been stolen. A Shadyside man, 29, was charged with theft and driving on a suspended license.

PORT REPUBLIC AREA
VANDALISM

Wades Way, 6:52 a.m. Aug. 24. Nails were placed under a vehicle’s tire and paint on the vehicle was damaged. Charges were pending.

PRINCE FREDERICK AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Blackberry Lane, 2 p.m. Aug. 24. An MP3 player was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Dares Beach Road, 3 p.m. Aug. 20 to 8:14 a.m. Aug. 21. A stereo, engine speed control system and fuse panel relays were ripped out of a bus at a nursing center and left at the scene.

ST. LEONARD AREA
VANDALISM

Douglas Street, Aug. 19. Two mailboxes were damaged.

Teague’s Point Road, 16000 block, Aug. 24. A heat pump was stolen from a vacant house. Two males in a truck were seen behind the house.

INDIAN HEAD AREA
ROBBERIES

Indian Head Highway, 6900 block, 12:40 a.m. Aug. 22. Three armed teenagers robbed a convenience store and fled with cash.

WALDORF ARA
ASSAULTS

Smallwood Drive, 8:30 p.m. Aug. 23. During an argument at a convenience store, a man fired shots as he pulled away in his vehicle. He hit a man he had been arguing with and a pedestrian. Both men suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. A Waldorf man, 19, was charged with three counts of first- and second-degree assault, three counts of reckless endangerment and use of a firearm in the commission of a crime.

VEHICLE THEFTS

Lewisham Place, 11600 block, 9:30 p.m. Aug. 26. During a pizza delivery at a home, someone stole the delivery vehicle when the driver walked away to make the delivery.

WHITE PLAINS AREA
ROBBERIES

Pages Court, 10000 block, 10:45 p.m. Aug. 24. Two men, 19 and 23, were robbed of shoes, wallet and a cellphone by two men with a gun.

Charlotte Hall, 2:27 a.m. Aug. 25. A gas station was robbed of cash by two armed men.

MECHANICSVILLE AREA
ARSONS

Golden Beach., Aug. 27. A man was arrested in connection with fires in two vacant houses in the Golden Beach community in July. A Golden Beach man, 26, was charged with two counts of first-degree arson, two counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of malicious destruction of property and two counts of reckless endangerment
