These were among reports received by the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office and the Maryland State Police. CHESAPEAKE BEACH AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Eighth St., Sept. 7 to Sept. 9. Someone entered a home. Nothing was reported stolen.

DUNKIRK AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Solomons Island Rd., 1:34 a.m. Sept. 12. Tools were stolen from a storage container at a construction site in a shopping center.

Southern Maryland Blvd., 8:54 p.m. Sept. 15. Glass in a front door was smashed, and cellphones and cash were stolen from a business.

HUNTINGTOWN AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Holland Cliff Rd., 9:30 a.m. Sept. 9. A safe was stolen from a closet at a residence.

LUSBY AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Calvert Ct., 11:17 a.m. Sept. 9. A homeowner saw a man inside his garage. A screen was cut, and a rear window was opened in the garage. Nothing was reported stolen.

Grover Rd., Sept. 6 to Sept. 13. Farm equipment was stolen from a residential yard.

H.G. Trueman Rd., 11:48 a.m. Sept. 10. A wallet was stolen from an employee’s purse at a convenience store.

OWINGS AREA
VANDALISM

Owings, 9:34 a.m. Sept. 13. A vehicle’s engine and gas tank were tampered with at an auto repair business.

Charles County

LA PLATA AREA
WEAPONS

Springhill Newtown Rd., Sept. 11. Police are searching for a Pomfret man, 29, who crashed his vehicle while driving it and then fled. A stolen firearm was found in the vehicle.

WALDORF AREA
ROBBERIES

St. Ignatius Dr., 1000 block, 4:04 p.m. Sept. 11. Three men robbed a convenience store at gunpoint and assaulted a clerk.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Berry Rd., 10100 block, 3 to 4 a.m. Sept. 18. A hundred packs of cigarettes and cash were stolen from a business.

Freemantle Ct., 2100 block, 1 p.m. Sept. 13. Two men were seen tampering with a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning unit at a home. Police later stopped a vehicle in which the two men were riding. Inside the vehicle, police found a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning unit. The two men were charged with theft. The unit inside the vehicle was not the one being tampered with at the home.

Dr. Samuel Mudd Rd., 3700 block, 2:16 a.m. Sept. 14. A lock was missing, and a door was opened at a museum. Burglary tools were found. Nothing was reported stolen.

VANDALISM

Crain Hwy., 3300 block, 3:19 a.m. Sept. 17. A front door was damaged at a business, but the business was not entered.

St. Mary’s County

CALIFORNIA AREA
SEXUAL ASSAULTS

California, Sept. 6. A California man, 45, was arrested in connection with sexual conduct involving an 8-year-old in August. The man was charged with fourth-degree sex offense and sexual abuse of a minor.

LEXINGTON PARK AREA
ASSAULTS

Lexington Park, Sept. 18. A man hit a woman on the head and scratched her wrist when she attempted to get her cellphone. A California man, 30, was charged with second-degree assault.

Sheriff Miedzinski Way, Sept. 15. During a foot chase, a man assaulted a police officer. A man, 28, was charged with assault.
