Old Washington Rd., 3700 block, 9:03 p.m. Oct. 16. A 1-year-old pit bull was fatally shot at a home. The dog was allegedly killed by a relative of its owner. A Waldorf man, 59, was charged with cruelty to animals and reckless endangerment.
Demarr Rd., 1000 block, Oct. 11 to oct. 15. Bags containing sulfur and potting soil were stolen from a barn.
Chancellor’s Run Rd., Oct. 13. During an argument, someone was assaulted by an acquaintance. A Leonardtown woman, 24, was charged with second-degree assault.
Foxchase Dr., Oct. 15. During an argument, someone was scratched on the face and neck by an acquaintance. A Valley Lee woman, 27, was charged with second-degree assault.
Great Mills Rd., 5:19 a.m. Oct. 12. During a band event at a high school, youths entered the band room and took cellphones, MP3 players, calculators, cash and credit cards. Two Great Mills boys, both 13, and two Lexington Park boys, 14 and 16, were charged with second- and fourth-degree burglary and theft.
Leonardtown, Oct. 14. During an argument, someone poured beer onto an acquaintance and hit her on the head with a shoe. A St. Inigoes man, 28, was charged with second-degree assault.
Lexington Park, Oct. 8. During an argument, someone kicked an acquaintance on the leg. A Lexington Park woman, 23, was charged with second-degree assault.
Lexington Park, 3:40 a.m. Oct. 13. Someone in a residence threw a glass of water at an acquaintance and hit the person with his hands. While being arrested, a male suspect gave a false name and fled on foot before being stopped by police soon afterward. A Forrestville man, 32, was charged with second-degree assault, making a false statement to police and failure to obey a lawful order.
Lexington Park, Oct. 10. An inmate at a detention center threw a cup of liquid on another inmate. A Lexington Park man, 18, was charged with second-degree assault.
Valley Dr., Oct. 12. During an argument, someone holding two knives moved toward an acquaintance. A Lexington Park man, 42, was charged with first-degree assault.
