Santa Claus (Gerald Morris) greets bystanders who gathered to watch workers unload the Capitol Christmas Tree. This year's tree is a 73-foot, 74-year-old Engelmann spruce from the Blanco Ranger District of the White River National Forest in Colorado. The tree will be lit from nightfall until 11 p.m. each evening through Dec. 26.
