A therapy dog program is intended to help victims work with prosecutors and testify in court.

Merlin explores the office of Commonwealth Attorney Paul Ebert in Manassas. Merlin is an English Pointer who will begin doing therapy work to assist victims who are testifying at the Prince William County courthouse. Merlin is part of a program spearheaded by Sandy Sylvester, a Prince William prosecutor who also has a therapy dog — a German Shepherd named Abby.
