Three die in Anne Arundel crash

Three people were killed Tuesday in Anne Arundel County in a six-vehicle crash, authorities said. Two others suffered injuries described as potentially life-threatening.

The crash occurred around 5 p.m. in the Millersville/Gambrills area, on Route 3 near Route 32, the county police said.

They said the crash involved five passenger cars and a commercial vehicle described as a flat-bed delivery truck. The incident started when one vehicle ran into the back of another, said Lt. Glenn Shanahan of the Anne Arundel County police. All three who died were in the same vehicle, Shanahan said.

A total of six people were injured, the police said. No names were immediately released.
