Toddler on life support after near-drowning in Prince George’s County

A 23-month-old boy who nearly drowned in Prince George’s County was on life support Saturday, officials said.

The toddler was not breathing and had no pulse when he was found on a water-filled swimming pool cover Friday night in the 12400 block of Sturdee Drive in Upper Marlboro, said Mark Brady, a spokesman for the county fire and rescue service.

Medical personnel revived the child; but he was in critical condition, “struggling for his life,” Brady said Saturday.

Police said the near-drowning was under investigation.
