Earlier this year, Wael was released from a seven-month jail stint after being accused in the 2007 killing of his identical twin brother, Wasel Ali. Wael was arrested in Georgia four years after the killing, but a judge declared a mistrial after a jury failed to reach a verdict. The case was challenging for Howard County police and prosecutors because the twins share identical DNA.
