Two questions gripped Washington on Saturday: How long would the warm weather last, and where did all those people on Connecticut Avenue NW come from?
The short answer to the first question is, at least through Sunday. Forecasters say Sunday’s temperatures may also be in the 70s and may set a second straight daily record.
The city’s 72-degree high temperature Saturday was well above the old record of 68, set 90 years ago.
As for the clog of cars on Connecticut Avenue, thousands of motorists — possibly prompted by those balmy temperatures — were converging on the National Zoo for the dazzling ZooLights display.
