Weather-related closings, delays in the D.C. region
In Maryland, Howard County public schools will open two hours late.
In Virginia, schools in Frederick, Loudoun and Prince William counties have a two-hour delay. Rappahannock, Warren and Fauquier County schools are closed. Fauquier County government offices have a two-hour delay.
Most of the Washington region is getting rain Friday, with some areas experiencing snow that is creating wet, slushy spots. Drivers are urged to use caution as they head out this morning, as roads may be slick.
To our north, New York and Boston are preparing for what could be a historic blizzard. As a result, thousands of flights out of Washington area airports have been cancelled.
Amtrak reports that normal service in the Northeast Corridor will continue Friday morning, but service to Boston will be suspended at 12 p.m.
