Wednesday in D.C.: 4 things to look for

Coming up today in the D.C. region:

Racing presidents: Applications are due today to fill the shoes, and giant heads, of the Washington Nationals mascots.

Maryland gas tax: A study examining the effects of a gas tax on Maryland’s middle class is set to be released today.

Virginia transportation: Negotiations in a transportation-funding deal that would cut the fuels tax but raise sales tax are expected to resume at 8:30 a.m.

State of the county: Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett is slated to deliver the state of the county address at 7:30 p.m.
