Mary Beth Sheridan is a diplomatic correspondent for The Washington Post. She came to the Post in 2001 after 11 years as a foreign correspondent for the Associated Press, Miami Herald and Los Angeles Times. She has reported from nearly 50 countries and has been based in Rome, Bogota and Mexico City. She was awarded an Overseas Press Club award in 1998 for her work in Mexico and was part of a Washington Post team that were Pulitzer Prize finalists for reporting on terrorism. She previously covered homeland security and immigration for the Post.
